The second video game console developed by Microsoft, the Xbox 360 was unveiled in 2005. The Xbox 360 was met with great interest and all retailers sold out in every country except Japan.

Xbox 360 offers an integrated and improved Xbox Live, that not only allows players to play together online but to access libraries of full games, demos, add-ons, videos, as well streaming music and film services.

There have been several variations of the Xbox 360.

The Xbox 360 Core (later called the Arcade) came bundled with Composite AV cables and limited memory card. The arcade version came with a game disc of 5 classic arcade games. High-Definition cables could be bought seperately as well as hard drive.

Xbox 360 Pro or Premium was the standard Xbox 360 package sold. It came with High-Definition cables that had a built in optical audio hook-up as well as a 20GB or 60GB hard drive.

Xbox 360 Elite was the first Xbox 360 done in a matte black finish. The console also came with a matching black controller and headset along with a 120GB hard drive.

Xbox 360 Super Elite was packaged with two controllers and a 250GB hard drive. The console was also available in limited Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2, Forza 3, Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST, Splinter Cell Conviction, and Final Fantasy XIII packages.

Upon the consoles redesign 2 models were made available. Xbox 360 4GB and Xbox 360 250GB consoles can both be purchased with the Xbox Kinect. The redesign offers a physically smaller console in a gloss black finish along with a wireless controller. The 4GB model is packaged with composite cables and the 250GB model has High-Definition cables.
